At its inception, CakeCodes, Inc. saw advertising in a completely different way as a marketplace of consumers (“Buyers”) and advertisers (“Sellers”). Inefficiencies and middlemen flooded the advertising space resulting in users being inundated with ads and businesses seeing negative ROI on their advertising campaigns. To solve this problem, we uprooted the traditional digital advertising space to create a platform that connects advertisers directly to the users. We saw users as people. We discovered that by giving people the ability to opt-in and obtain cryptocurrency as a reward for trying out new products and services like Hulu and Mobile Strike, advertisers also ended up seeing positive ROI on their campaigns.
With this, CakeCodes, Inc. created a sustainable and profitable business with over 800,000 app installs in over 187 countries. We recognized the additional capabilities that our platform possessed to help all of the 4.68 billion eligible people in the world (and not just the 3.4 billion people that can afford to work within today’s systems). The problem with today’s centralized systems (e.g. Fiverr, Upwork, and Mechanical Turk) is not only the nonsensical high fees (as high as 10-40% of the transaction), but also the lack of freelancer (seller) protections in their platform. It is time to evolve now.
Our vision is to use the power of blockchain to expand our platform to create StorMarket, the first decentralized micro-job marketplace economy that focuses on enabling people to pursue a life of meaning and purpose. StorMarket will be a place where people can go to pursue their ambitions of being a creator or a developer – and will be a place with all of the project management and marketing aspect of performing their micro-job automatically managed as part of the platform. Blockchain will enable us to be the bridge to a new digital world economy.
